Cinema 4d/Cineversity R24 and Unity 2021
Hi all,
I'm new to Unity and have 3 questions after having explored en tried C4D file using Cineversity in Unity. I'm using C4D R24.
(I'm building a Art Galery and outdoor atelier with walkthrough) My questions:
*Do I have to bake textures/materials in C4D before using it in Unity? ( I've found contradictions in forums so to be sure I want to ask them here.)
*Is it true that I don't have to bother about lighting set up in C4D? and that I can arrange that in Unity?
*Is there a limit in polygons? because I'm building the exact atelier/galery and vegetation of the artist and his materials.. want to make a virtual exhibition but also want to give the user a walk in the area and see/feel the ambiance of the artist his working place...
I hope you can help me out! Unity support redirected me to this forum.
Warm grateful greetings,

I've never seen any modelling software able to export materials in a way Unity can import (except if the materials are made using Substance), so I would advise you don't "waste" time in C4D and handle the materials in Unity itself.

Same as above. The rendering engine used by the modelling software is most likely different from the one used by Unity so I would focus on the lighting in Unity. You'll never manage to have the exact same ligthting in Unity compared to the one you can have in C4D.
Is there a limit in polygons?
The only limit is what your users' computer can support.
Some precisions though: you can do some materials in C4D to help you in the modeling process, but you won't be able to have the same rendering in Unity. Same for lightning. It may help you create the lighting in Unity but again, don't expect the same rendering.
About the number of polygons. I advise you to keep the number of vertices of a single object below 65535.
