Fonts have black textures
It seems that most of the time when I import a TTF, it just shows black when looking at the Font Texture. I've only managed to import 1 that actually shows text. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

not necassarily, i have some texts i downloaded with black and one with even a white box with a border.... but the texts look normal on a GUI, and on 3d texts.... so as long as it works on a GUI or 3d text for you, it's not necassarily a bad thing.
if you want to see the text in the inspector, change the import font importer(with the font name) to ASCII defaul set. that's what i do to see the text material in the inspector.
there are some texts that have the text already also, and that's okay too.
that's another thing, the text "material" may seem white or black in the inspector, but that's because it's set to Dynamic. but the font is still usable. i'm currently using the default set and some dynamic fonts in my GUIs and they both work fine, so it doesn't really matter (to unity) what they're set to.
