Pixel Perfect in different resolutions
Hi,
I'm trying to make a 2D game that is pixel perfect and needs to remain pixel perfect in all resolution/aspect ratios. Here are my numbers:
Pixels per unit: 32
Camera Size: 5.625
Native resolution: 640 x 360
Aspect ratio: 16:9
I got these numbers from a pixel perfect camera calculator here and it works properly when the game remains in 16:9. However when scaling to different aspect ratios, the camera is unable to render the sprites in a pixel perfect way, and starts to shift out of proportion.
I'm using the Pixel Perfect Plugin from the asset store and am using the following values:
Target Height: 360
I've heard about using black bars/letterboxing in order to keep the camera at a certain ratio (in my case 16:9), using the black bars to cover up the leftover spaces in the resolution calculations. How would I go about doing so while trying to remain pixel perfect? The ratios I'm currently targeting are 5:4 and 4:3. Those are a problem for my current build.
If anyone has any suggestions or comments about the issue any help would be greatly appreciated. If I've calculated my camera's orthographic size incorrectly or inputted the incorrect pixels to units for my sprites, please do let me know.
I'm wondering the same thing; did you ever find any more information about this?
