using unity pro license for non-gaming application
Hello, I would like to build a retail application using unity pro licensed version. The application will be used by general public. Do you have any thoughts on if the "unity pro" license covers this situation. The compiled application will be installed on one server at the retailer.
Thanks Nathan
If your company has a turnover greater than $100k then you need a pro license. Doesn't matter how it makes that turnover.
any thoughts by unity3d moderator?
Does the pro license cover installation of packaged non-game application on a server. the application will be accessed by consumers using unity player.
my company is a startup and doesn't have 100$$anonymous$$ in turnover.
thanks nathan
You should not expect that kind of response here. Contact sales directly if you have a query like this or have your legal representative comment on the terms available.
So if you want an official communication then email sales. Otherwise i can envisage no circumstnce under which you would be prevented doing what you wish with either Free or Pro.

Read the EULA, specifically the section on restrictions. What you describe might fall under the embedded applications restriction, though you should contact Unity Technologies directly to make sure.
To be honest, they could not have made this section more blurry. I am not sure of what it means...
It could certainly stand to use some definitions of terms.
