Export Multiple Objects Animations from Maya to Unity
Greetings!
I'm looking for a way to extract several animation files from a Maya scene.
I have a museum floor plan model that contains several scattered objects. The floor plan along with these objects, have different animations going on.
I attempted to save this Maya scene as a FBX file and figured that when I imported it to Unity that I would be able to control each object's animation.(Speed, loop setting, etc) However, this was not the case.
I ended up receiving only one animation file (Take001) which contained all the animations.
I read about splitting the animation into clips: https://docs.unity3d.com/560/Documentation/Manual/Splittinganimations.html
This didn't seem to work well for me and I think the reason is because I have several objects with different animations within one FBX file instead of having a single object with different animations within one FBX file.
I'm not sure if I'm missing a step? Or if this is possible? Or do I just import each object separately?
Any help, suggestion, or guidance on what else I could try would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
