Moderation and rejection (Qato)
Would it be possible (and a good idea?) to add a feature for rejection of posts, instead of just suspending the user? This would cover posts that aren't just spam, but offensive, repeated, outside subject of Unity or posts intended as trolling.
Yes, that would most certainly be an exceptionally good idea. :P
There are already features like closing or even deleting spam posts. Howevery you need a high enough reputation, to do so
http://answers.unity3d.com/page/faq.html
Even though, there are some features missing from the old StackExchange script, like voting for close/retag
The good people at QATO will make it happen. Needs some changes from their side, but we'll make it possible for karma >1000 users to delete posts in the moderation queue.
I'm not sure how things are connected today, but it would be great if the user got an e-mail or a message inside Quato similar to:
Your post was declined: Reason entered by moderator
Which would give instant feedback to the user and a heads up on what kind of content isn't allowed. I think there's a great number of new people who misunderstands the concept and structure of UnityAnswers.
the [+] allows you to read the post in full before posting. Also, you can't suspend users- the button exists, but mere mortals like us aren't allowed to press it. You can delete answers, but not questions. The only way to deal with duplicate questions that I know of is to pass all of them, and immediately close all but one.
The entire problem with the queue, I$$anonymous$$O, is the fact that it works on the assumption of 'Guilty until proven innocent'. The queue should only be for people with negative karma.

That would be great.
What would also be a nice feature is if the 'moderation' link at the top of the page turned green or some color if there were posts to approve.
Indeed, this sure would be nice to $$anonymous$$imize queue-time for the new users.

Moderation is failing. This site is failing. I randomly logged on (I rarely do any more), and found 27 items in the moderation queue, the oldest from 10 hours ago.
