Embed web player in WordPress.com post?
I'm trying to embed a Unity web player game inside a WordPress.com post in such a way that would make it playable right there on the page. How would I go about doing this, step by step? If this is not possible, what else can I do? Can I, say, upload the html and unity3d files to Dropbox and use them somehow from there?
(Note: WordPress.com does not allow FTP access or plugin installation for security reasons)
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Ultimately, Unity's WebPlayer is launched via JavaScript embedded in the page. Does WordPress allow you to drop JS into post content? If they do, then this should be possible.
If someone wanted to try this, I'd recommend a very close look at the WebPlayer deployment manual chapter, including subpages. The page on web player templates includes most of the bare-bones JS and HT$$anonymous$$L that you would need to get a WebPlayer build going.
At the most basic level, though, it needs something like this:
Embed script dependencies in page (jQuery, UnityObject)
Embed target div in your HT$$anonymous$$L
Host
unity3d
file somewhere publicConfigure and call UnityObject to start UWP plugin
Steps 1, 2 and 4 are fairly well documented in the manual.
Step 3 may be a showstopper if you're expecting a lot of traffic. $$anonymous$$aybe you can get away with a public file share, or maybe you need to contract with a CDN.
