Help save my linux mint! I downloaded unity5 for linux...
... The unity debian package started uninstalling all of my packages! I was able to stop it before it got very far, how can I get those packages back on my system, before a power failure or reboot?
I did an apt-get -f install Then I did apt-get update then apt-get upgrade
I then took the debian package and unpacked it, ar x unity5.deb I then extracted the data archive Then changing the owner of opt to root Changing permissions for the sandbox program according to what Unity specified. creating the folder in ~/.local/unity3d/Unity then running Unity 5 linux version. Unity5 is working on my Linux $$anonymous$$int.
I highly discourge letting the debian package install itself, as it will uninstall programs and also roll back your packages. This breaks dependencies and makes you loose programs, such as bytecoinwallet.
Extract the .deb file of unity, then unpack the data archive. Following the error messages from the Unity executable and you can get unity 5 installed without the debian package manager.

I will now try to reboot, and see if I saved my computer.
