Unity Water Script and Material makes the scene very, very heavy, any alternatives?
Dear all,
I am heaving a performance issue with unity Water script and and WaterProDaytime material, that comes with Unity Standart assets. If I have the water obeject in the scene, with Reflect and Refract Layers set to Everything the scene is super heavy.
Here a the screenshots with water On/Off
Water ON
Water OFF
The solution I found is to have only few parts reflect and refract in the script. But it still adds like 300 drawcalls. Does someone know what is going on? I don't understand why it is not using the reflection probes? and if someone knows a better and faster realistic water asset, please tell me.
I am using unity 2017.2.0
