2D - Top Down town W/ Terrain
Thanks for reading and/or answering!!!
So i want to make a simple 2D top view town (and eventually a game). Because I am pretty new to Unity (I used Blender before)I have some questions:
Do I need to build a town in 3d and later on set it to 2D?
Should I build a whole building in Blender or just create the roof, because that is the only thing I am gonna see, Right?
I want to create a terrain that looks like this, but how: http://cargocollective.com/jrschmidt/Geometric-Landscapes
Can I create the terrain in Blender or is it easier to do it with Unity?
Do you know a tutorrial,Forum something else where i can find it? Do you need to mail me? Just ask and I will give my e-mail.
Sorry for my spelling I am from Holland :) ---Rubentje

you don't need to build the whole town in 3D, you can choose to model just the geometry that will be visible by camera.. Less geometry means better performance.
Just create the geometry that you need. If you only see the roof, only model the roof.
This is a question better suited for the blender community, of course it is possible, but it all depends how good of a modeller you are.
I personally create my terrain in blender because I find that there are more in depth tools to do so, but I'm sure there will be people who prefer a different solution
and I double what GameVortex says. You should have one specific question at a time
