Setting borders distorts spliced images somehow
So, I’ve been following this 3DBuzz tutorial, and haven’t properly been able to follow the part where you make it so that a sprite doesn't resize awkwardly (see the video starting from 18:00). My main issue is with the panel sprite. I did everything he said: set the texture to 2D Sprite and UI, set the borders so the outside parts don’t stretch awkwardly, and apply the changes.
Then, I applied that image to the Panel, and it looks like this. I don’t understand why; I set the borders exactly as the tutor asked. In the meantime, I used a workaround, but that apparently led to some issues later.
I tried messing around with a bunch of other settings, but I still got nothing. I assume that the issue lies in some difference between Unity 4.6 (the version the tutor was using) and Unity 5.0 (which I am using).
If it helps any, after originally applying the borders, the Panel Import Settings gave a warning that says this: “Only POT texture can be compressed if mip-maps are enabled. Only textures with width/height being multiple of 4 can be compressed to DTX5 format”.
The image apparently gets compressed fine in Unity 4.6, but I get that warning in Unity 5.0. So, what should I do to make it so that my spliced images don't get all distorted?
