FPS character walking below the terrain?
I am quite new to Unity (5.5) and certainly making all kinds of fundamental errors as I vary my diet of tutorials by fooling around ad lib. Tonight I managed to do something odd, no idea how I did it; my FPS character now lands (and walks around) several feet below the terrain, as if displaced vertically. The FPS character seems to follow the contour of the terrain, but I'm looking up at it from below rather than walking on top of it.
I've been googling around for references to this issue but so far, have only found mentions of FPS chars falling right through the terrain and into the Void. The project I am working on is just a sandbox thing and not of great value, I can scrap it and start over; so this is not an SOS, just curiosity: how the heck did I do that?
