Vuforia Depth Mask Hole

Question

I am new to Vuforia / Unity and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to create this effect?

I am struggling to find any tutorials / examples.

I used the Depthmask (http://wiki.unity3d.com/index.php?title=DepthMask) and changed Tags {"Queue" = "Geometry+200" } so that I could see objects below the mask.
