Reimporting Assets causes VR crash
Hey guys,
I've been having this problem with Unity for a while now and unfortunately it's been wasting a lot of my time and I can't build my project because of it. Every time I open Unity after closing it, it says "Determining assets that need to be re imported for target platform". When the project finally opens, Unity no longer registers my Oculus Rift so I am unable to play the game at all. Everything else seems to be working fine, it's just the VR aspect that seems to crash. The only way to fix it is to copy and paste all my assets into a blank project which can take about an hour each time. Since this happens every time I close Unity, you can imagine how annoying its getting. I run into the same problem when I try to build the scene so I am unable to build the scene properly without Unity reimporting assets and bugging the VR controls. The problem started with Unity 5.5.0 and is continuing with 5.5.1.
I hope someone can point me to some kind of solution because I really can't seem to solve this problem. I can't even understand why it would be reimporting the assets at all. If someone knows a bit more about Unity's importer and could point me in the right direction that would be great.
