How to design levels?
Hello!
Yesterday I started working on making a Unity 2D Game, and I am fairly new. I made a lot of sprites (character idle, character jumping, running and I've made some other items) because I love pixel art. But I came to a dead end. I want to design a level, and the level is all in enclosed building so each room has its own background, I wanted to know if I can make a map (Draw it) in 2D sprite then use it as my map? Or do you guys have any tips that you would like to share? maybe i should make smaller sprites and make the map in unity.
Thanks for putting your time and reading! :) and thank you for responding.
For quick results, I suggest getting Tiled and Tiled2Unity. These will let you easily create tile-based maps into your game and handle all the complicated stuff like mesh generation and uv mapping.
