Touches on the far left side not registering due to 3D Touch app switching
Hi,
Since iPhone6s, when Apple introduced 3D Touch, they added a new way to switch apps : press down on the side of the screen, and swipe.
An annoying side effect is that this has introduced a small "dead zone" on the far left side of the screen. This can lead to missed input, which makes our game feel buggy. The user is actually touching the screen, but because he touches the side, nothing happens. In a situation where users have to press left/right on the screen, this really does affect gameplay.
Is there any way to turn off this behaviour in a game?
This is not a Unity specific question, as I've been able to replicate this in non-Unity games too, but it does affect Unity games so I figured I'd ask it here, in case someone has a solution.
Thanks!
