Scale object between 2 moving objects

I'm trying to make shock absorber. I have spring joint between 2 cylinders and i want to scale object between them when they get closer and away from each other.

There is spring joint between red and blue cylinders and i want to scale green cylinder.

Any ideas how i can do that?
