Animation Layering
So I'm working on a 3rd Person Action Game & I have multiple basic movements for the character. I want to incorporate a block stance which only holds keyframes on his torso, so if I play the blocking animation his body & legs will do what they're supposed to, but his torso will block. Eg. If he's running his legs will do the run motion, but his torso will block. The problem is that this simply isn't working. It will run through the animation but the legs will stop animating when the block starts looping. Is there any way to achieve having 2 animations play at once?

There's no simple answer, but it basically comes down to splitting up your animations and assigning them different weights and layers.
