Pre-moderation has been removed. Now what?
Now that there is no pre-moderation, what are the rules for modding posts? Do we push bad questions back into moderation and reject them? Do we move low-effort/beginner questions to the Help Room space? Do we reject "me to" answers?
It would be nice to have a revamped, up-to-date, clear, consistent set of rules for everyone to go by.
There was a suggestion of turning the Default space into a more Advanced space, and having the Help Room set as default when you post a Question. If this is something that would make sense I can ask if this is possible without any customisation and we could try it out.
But yeah, we would need to re-write the mod guidelines now. I'm seeing posts being sent to the mod queue as well as being deleted, so some rules we can all follow to try and keep some form of consistency will be necessary.
For the last two years the rules have been out-of-date and mods have disagreed about the things you asked. I figure we'll just keep doing that. At some point, maybe, a thread about how to moderate will get some traction.
I have my opinion (No - move them to HelpRoom; Yes; Yes for default space, but No for HelpRoom.) But the four other active $$anonymous$$ods have different opinions. That's why the $$anonymous$$od queue wasn't working.
Setting HelpRoom as the first option when you post would help in theory. But we haven't been sorting beginner/serious Qs for so long, it would probably just confuse people.
