Question by Lopuz3 · Jun 14, 2010 at 10:25 PM · networkingserverclientlearningbadumna

Learning Project: How is Badumna for a server?

I am building a small game in which users can talk, move etc. with an authoritative server as a learning experience in networking. Unity seems a great for the client but a bit lame for the server. Badumna caught my eye as a good server tool. Is using Badumna a good idea, or would something else be better?

Thanks in advance!

Why not give it a quick try? It's a learning project, and knowing how to recognize a less-than-ideal tool is part of the learning process.

I think it's a good idea to ask for feedback before wasting your time 'learning' something which may be rubbish.

Badumna looks interesting, although it looks like it's quite new. If you're just starting out, it might be easier to get to grips with more mature solution.

I've been looking for networking suites as well, check out http://www.firstcontactstudios.com/BeamServer/ too.

Hello Zavior, you might want to add some more details on what you've good about BeamServer, as that would make your answer more useful.
