Cannot enable mip map generation in advanced import settings for any texture/sprite?
When I try to enable it and press apply it automatically switches back. Not able to find anything related to this problem. What did I mess up?
Also in SpriteEditor the fader to switch mipmap levels is greyed out-- pic related!
Tried some different file types and tried out other combinations with other import settings.
It just always auto-resets when pressing the apply button.
In other unity projects it still works fine. So it seems related to the project.
Pleease anyone?

Sprites never have mipmaps. It also wouldn't make much sense for 2d images. You only need mip maps when you actually see the image smaller than it actually is. This usually only happens in 3d environments wnen you have perspective which show things further away smaller.
If you actually talk about a 3d game / application you don't want to use sprites at all. The sprite texture type is only used in 2d games or UI stuff.
So if you want to use mipmaps, use a different texture type.
It usually helps when you give more information about the actual usecase.
