Utilizing Google Play Location Services
I am in the process of building a mobile app for android and iOS in Unity. One feature we were hoping to implement is given a devices location we want to determine the zip code they are in and then find all the surrounding zip codes within a certain radius (miles). I found Google's Location service provides a way for you to get the information without having to have a local database. I've looked into Google's Play Game Services for Unity but it doesn't seem to have the location services included. I've also downloaded the Android location services SDK through the Android manager and tried to get those into my Unity project with no success. I'm wondering if anyone else has attempted to get a list of surrounding zip codes from a devices location or if its possible to use Googles Location services in Unity.
