Simulating CCTV Resolutions and Quality
Hi all,
Unfortunately, I have to be this guy: I am new to unity and the reason why I am here is because I could not find a straight answer or a clear work-around for my issue: I want to simulate CCTV cameras with different properties: various resolutions (CIF, 2CIF, 4CIF, VGA, etc.). I know I can crop the image and position the camera to view only a portion of the screen based on field of view and the Rect function, but this does not give me the actual view of a -say- VGA camera. I need to do PTZ functions as well which would normally zoom in only as far as the optical zoom allows it to and then simply start enlarging pixels.
Anyone tried to do something like that before? I currently have the personal version of unity because I am still studying it but am planning to upgrade to pro if I find that the engine fits my purpose as it seems like it has a huge following and is relatively simple to understand (so far at least!).
Idiot sandwich idea: Can the pro version's "render to texture" give me that kind of flexibility somehow, if there is no way to do it through the camera's native functions? If yes, can someone put me in the right research direction?
Cheers, Sami
