How to animate an organic skin membrane?
I am a little confused on what kinds of animations can be used in Unity from Maya or 3dsmax, From what I understand everything has to have bones or be a blendshape, is this correct?
I want to animate a creature that is basically like a cylinder but it is covered by a skin membrane, and then imagine if the bottom half of the cylinder sucked back up inside the upper part but all while keeping the outer membrane intact with no tears or hard creases, so basically the skin is folding at the end where the bottom is up inside the top. Would this have to be done as a blendshape? Im struggling with how to do it. Cheers.
