3D side scroller following Sebastian Lague platformer controller
Im trying to implement a character controller for e 3D / 2.5D platformer ala the Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze game and have been following his video tutorial on the topic (https://youtu.be/MbWK8bCAU2w)
My problem begins with the fact that im trying to achieve this in 3D rather than 2D and what happens when I try and implement colliders is that the player object simply passes through the obstacles which I will guess is because the rays aren't hitting anything.
Im looking for some sort of direction on how it's achievable to build this style of controller for 2D using raycasting (I like the type of controller feel he's able to implement) so I would like to proceed with this approach if it's applicable in 3D. Based on some of the comments it sounds like it's definitely possible but having tried changes like switching from BoxCollider2D to BoxCollider and Physics2D to Physics im still unable to make collisions work.
