Do I need to be a company for logo?
I am developing a game with my friend. We have a team name and logo but we are not a company or nothing professional. While uploading our game, can we use our team name and logo? Can we use that logo in splash screen or do we need to get it copyrighted first?
I searched it on the internet but couldn't find an answer so I hope someone can help us here.
Afaik, no. You don't need to have formed any kind of legal entity in order to brand your organization. However, without doing things like filing for a trademark or incorporating, you are also entitled to no legal protections; you, as an individual, are the responsible legal entity.
So, without any trademark anyone can use our $$anonymous$$m name and we can't do anything, right?
That's my understanding, but this isn't a legal forum. I'd go to one of those and ask a lawyer.
