Should my ball gameobject have a rigidbody component?
I'm developing a virtual reality game for Google's Daydream platform.
In my game there's a ball that can be moved by the Daydream controller. I want to simulate realistic throwing by using the velocity of the ball when being moved by the controller.
It seems intuitive that I should be using a rigidbody component for my ball but everywhere I read people seem to be against rigidbody components.
My goal is to simulate a real throw, that is, calculate an accurate projectile motion for the ball based on the controller movement. Should I be using a rigidbody component and how do I simulate projectile motion?
Thank you
