Is it possible to add an icon in text?
I am creating a card game where the card text can contain icons (similar to the mana and tap symbols on Magic: The Gathering cards) and I have no idea as to how to get the image into the text. I plan on using a TextMesh
object to display the card text, so if there is a way to add the icons to a TextMesh
that would be preferable, however I am open to suggestions.
Unity is about to release a new GUI system in the next few months. I would use that.

After some more thinking and research, I found the quad
tag in the rich text docs here that allows for exactly this functionality.
I know... two year old post and such, but I have been looking for some working examples of how to use this quad 'cause that's also what I am trying to work with.
Unfortunately my icon comes out as some kind of jumbled mess.
I'm unable to make it even try to render as a quad. With other tags such as color or italics it works as intended. But with "quad" it just renders it as the original literal text.
