.netframework
Unity 2021.2 .Net Framework 4.7.2
Unity 2021.1.28 (Windows Standalone) and before had a .NET 4 option, in the Player Settings, but Unity 2021.2 and following only specify .NET Framework. The .NET 4 option supported .NET 4 and following, such as .NET Framework 4.7.1 or 4.7.2. The new .NET Framework option appears to support .NET 4.8.
I am using a DLL for an FPGA interface that only runs in .NET 4.7.1 or 4.7.2, and there is no way to recompile it in newer versions of .NET. Is there a way to get the newer versions of Unity to use .NET 4.7.2?
Otherwise, I can put the DLL in another application and use named pipes to transfer data to newer versions of Unity. I was hoping to save some computer resources since I need to continuously transfer 160 MB/s.
