Mesh Vertices Limit: Changing Unitys way of slicing the mesh
Hi there,
Info: I work with a high poly mesh of 1 Mio. triangles. This has to be since it is an object that showcases the possible Qualities of VR. So Unity is separating the Mesh into a dozen objects which is ok for me. But it does so by slicing the object vertically.
My question is: I would rather want it to slice pieces in a radius. Is there a way to change the slicing?
Thanks all in advance for your help!

No, there's no way to change this. If you want a different "slicing" you have to slice it yourself in a modelling tool so each piece stays under 64k vertices. The automatic slicing is just a fallback solution.
That would do the thing if it a) wouldn't make the edges of the 64k pieces hard and b) wouldn't be such a pain in the *** in $$anonymous$$aya with a 1 mio. tri mesh ;)
Thanks for your reply, have a nice weekend.
