Static batching, larger or smaller parts?
Is it better to batch higher poly or lower poly parts of a thing, if in total the whole thing will be viewed at once? Does it make a difference either way considering batching/culling?

hugs necro - but good question
As far as i know, batching has a vertice limit. So it might be a good idea to group things in the 3D modeling package and import them as a single mesh in Unity if possible. So it'll be 1 call anyway.
