Question by ozanymous · Oct 23, 2016 at 09:08 AM · vrscene-loading3dsmaxwebservice

Is it possible to change scene with 3ds max file which is provided on runtime?

Hello,

I'm so new here about Unity. That's why please be gentle if my question is meanless. I also plan to develop a simulation which is worked on android with virtual reality, but I'm not sure that is possible to change scene with 3ds max file. Is there anybody has any idea about possibility of that requirement? If it's possible, any kind of information are welcome.

Hope there's a solution about it. Thanks in advance.

Ozan

It would help if you could explain what relationship your scene has with 3Ds max.

Sorry for missing information! I'm going to create a vr simulation that you can take a tour on a building. That's why I need to use 3ds max renders as scenes. Is this possible to create dynamic scene with 3ds render? I hope, I could tell my requirement. Thanks for your attention.

You say you use 3ds max renders as scenes. Does that mean that you want to update a max file in 3ds max and have the changes reflect in a runtime Unity scene at the same time? I still don't understand how the two work together. From inside Unity, every object can be freely accessed and modified at runtime.

The feature you are asking about is not available with $$anonymous$$ax, you had to use $$anonymous$$aya LT where you can link your unity project with $$anonymous$$aya and can modify your project directly from there

Wrong - this can be accomplished in $$anonymous$$ax just as simply as it can be accomplished in ANY other 3D package. $$anonymous$$aya or $$anonymous$$ayaLT doesn't have any connectivity to Unity that is different than any other 3D package.
