Hosting my multiplayer game
Hello everyone,
I am making a multiplayer co-op rpg as my final year project using UNet and my game is based on client-server model. I am completely new to networking and all my knowledge is tutorial or documentation based. My question is that is it host my game for temporary bases for free (for testing purposes mainly) and how ??
I did try following the tutorials but all they tell is activate the unity's multiplayer service and they do the general match making and there game works (sorry if i am wrong) but obviously its on their local host so it will connect, no one shows if it works on two different computer with different IP addresses.
Could anyone please help me with this ??
You wanna use a dedicated server or a host (meaning one of the players acts as a server)?
@L$$anonymous$$84 i would need a dedicated server so that players can create and join rooms.

You can use Unitys relay server. If you use Unity Personal you have 20 Concurrent Users for free. https://store.unity.com/ A really nice template for creating a multiplayer game with a lobby you can find here: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/41836 You need to sign up for Unity Services / Multiplayer and add your project to make it work
@L$$anonymous$$84 ooh that is perfect. Any nice tutorial that you could link me to please ??
sorry, I've nevr done a tutorial on that but there is a documentation included in the asset. But i think you will find some on google
