Sprite changes aspect ratio when converted to texture in unity
So I have a sprite that is 750 (width) by 210 (height). I have put it in the game and adjusted the pixels per unit to match the scene size. But soon I realized that I need to use a texture to make the sprite appear to be scrolling.
When I did this I noticed a loss in quality when I made a quad and applied the texture to it. It seems that the sprite changes resolution when I make it a texture. It goes from (750px x 210px) to (512px x 256px) as seen in pic below:

Let me know if you need any more info! I really want to figure this out because it will help me understand how to make pixel perfect games in unity for iOS.
