Transparent shader does not appear solid with alpha 1
As the title says I am wanting to fade an object in and out. I currently do this via a script whereby I change the alpha of the object's material which is using the Standard Transparent shader. What I have noticed however is that the objects appear fairly see-through, like stained glass, even when the alpha is at 1. Is there a way that I can make the object appear completely solid at alpha 1 but then see through when I change it say 0.5f alpha? If this is the intended behaviour could someone suggest why my materials appear partly see through? They are just solid colour and do not use any textures.

The texture is probably also partly transparent. For fun, I think, you could jack the color's alpha past 1 and see what happens.
