How to make animations work in animator

I'm using the 2D Sidescroller script (touch) to make my character and camera move anche it works pretty well. The animations set up in the animator work well as well, almost. I set a float parameter, so it changes the animations from "idle" to "walk", but it works only in the wrong axis, the wrong one! Any suggestion/documentation? Thank you in advice
