Blurry text on InputField
Hi everybody,
So... here's the thing. I have an input field for users to write their name.
So.. as you can see, it looks quite awful. I've tried setting the font size to 300 and adjusting the transform Scale, but when I did this, the text doesn't appear, I've checked to setting the Overflow to overflow instead of truncate and here's another important thing... Since it's designed for mobile devices, the canvas is set to Scale with Screen Size.
¿Does anyone knows how to fix this?
Have you tried putting an outliner on it in the same color? The outline usually helps with smaller text.
ehmm... not that I remember, how can I do this?
Yes, unity has a problem with blurry text. Click your text in heir, scroll down to components in inspector, in components go to ui, under ui go to effects, under effects should be outline. Since your trying to use it as input text and nothing fancy then I would use same color, maybe some alterations to make the text less blurry. You will have to raise the alpha level under color to make the outline more visible. It's standard is 50 percent I think. What's good about the outline is you can use it for other menus main titles also besides this, and even copy the text and overlay them with slight offset to look nice. Normal fonts are less blurry then fonts like old English and black letter. So you may want to search the Web for free fonts and see if you can't find one naturally less blurry then use outline to tighten it up.
I would also check to make sure the alpha level is up on your font besides the outlines alpha. I would use size to geometry after you use the left side margin, and middle margin. This will align the text properly in the input field geometry.
Not sure on this one but if the input field has a child text? If so it may be possible to copy and paste the text, don't move it, then make the second a child of the first text. This should make it clearer by overlapping .Any script you use to call the first one, you will have to call on the second. Also when using ui anything that's not a button, scroll, input field, or just intractable. I would turn off ray cast, like panels, texts, images. It will improve performance especially since you mentioned mobile.
