GameObject doesn't cast a shadow
Hi I'm having some trouble getting my GameObjects to cast shadows.
I have a spot light attached to my player and i have added a new GameObject to my scene but as you can see the Sphere doesn't cast shadows. I've checked the cast and recieve shadows box but nothing changes.
Thanks for any help you can give me

Doesn't Unity tell stuff like you can't cast shadows unless it's a directional light? Deferred lighting?
Thanks for commenting, i tried a directional light but that didn't work either. $$anonymous$$ight be a basic question but what is deferred lighting?

Do you have unity Pro? 'Cause shadows are a unity pro feature. http://unity3d.com/support/documentation/Manual/Shadow%20Troubleshooting.html
unfortunately not (I don't have that kind of money :D) but thanks for the answer I guess I will just have to live with it or work out some thing else. I was planning a scary game but won't be much without shadows
I'll try using a projector ins$$anonymous$$d, thanks again

A little bit late, but for all who have the same problem: Check if the light have the "shadow type" option with an actual shadow type.

select "directional light" on the Hierarchy.
go to the inspector.
Find Shade Type -in the pull down box Select one of the following -No, Hard or Soft Shadows.
