Best way to transfer audio clips?
Hi!
Currently I am recording audio using the Microphone, getting an audio clip. This audio clip can be recorded either in a mobile device (android, iOS) or a windows machine.
My setting may have several mobile devices and laptops (the clients) and a windows machine (server). What I need is to be able to record the audio, send it to the server and, when asked by other clients, send it and be able to play it there.
I don't know what is the best way to do this communication, since the formats that can be loaded to audio clips are device dependent: - Should I send that audio clip data, and then get a file from there (I'm currently only able to get a wav file using https://gist.github.com/darktable/2317063)? Then the server would have to convert the file depending on the device needs (for example, mp3 to a phone)? - Should these conversions be made in the clients, before sending to the server, for example with ffmpef, or similar, to .ogg to make the communication faster? - Or am I complicating?
Thanks in advance,
