How can I make my server move other players?
I'm working on an online game and when a player hits an object they are supposed to move out of view by translating on the z axis. However, occasionally when a player other than the host hits an object the collision registers only for the server, the player is moved only for the server, and when the player moves it tells the server that the player is back in view. This allows the player to retain control of their character through death.
Is there any way I could have the server move the other player and relay the information to all the other clients?
Perhaps make an RPC call on the clients to update the players position? That could work. But if they're still able to retain control even after the server has done its kill setup, that's not good in the fist place, and I doubt it's fully caused by one error.
Perhaps use the RPC call and disable the movement on the Player side during death?
