importing geometry from 3dsmax 2016

Hi there, I have tried several ways of importing an architecture setup form 3dsmax (export to FBX) but only the geometry is visible in unity. The textures do import and I have also copied those to the Textures folder inside the unity project but they don't show onto the objects. I can however select an object and then manually select the right texture but this is taking a lot of time. There should be an easier way i presume.

Unity creates materials the first time you import, if you still do not have the textures these materials will be empty. $$anonymous$$ake sure you have all the textures in Unity, then delete the materials and reimport the FBX. This way Unity will create new materials with the textures.
