Weird editor freezing in new update
Having a weird problem where the editor seems to freeze momentarily every 1.5 seconds or so.
This occurred after I downloaded the new Unity update (2017.3.0f3).
Tried reinstalling Unity which didn't solve the problem.
I'm running Unity on a Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4GHz and MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4GB with 16 gigs of RAM.
I have the latest Nvidia graphics drivers installed.
I know that it isn't an issue with my project since the same issue occurs on a fresh project too. Any ideas on how to solve this?

I now noticed that after a few hours of having Unity open the issue seems to "fix itself". However it comes back when I restart Unity and I have to wait a few hours to make it not freeze again every time.
Freezing like when you just started the unity or in play mode?
It kinda freezes in the way it does when you edit code and then switch back to Unity. Except now it does it constantly every 1.5 seconds.
Added a video of the freezing to the post, however might be hard to notice the freezing, but every time the "loading cursor" shows up the editor freezes for about a second. Also noticed that Unity sometimes takes either a very long time to get past the license checking stage, or just gets stuck at that stage when starting Unity.
Came home for shopping and checked my Unity and it suddenly worked again. Won't mark this as an answer since it really isn't a fix for the problem.
Edit: Freezing came back after restarting Unity.
Try unchecking the GI and the Baked on the Lightning sometimes they cause a sudden freeze. I'm always doing that :) $$anonymous$$ight help.
The scene doesn't use baked lights at all, and not sure what you mean by GI? Seems like the freezing came back after a restart though :(
before that happens uhm did you install some plugins ?
