Playerprefs reverting to old value, despite them being cleared, in build, while working fine in editor.

In the editor of my game the playerprefs are fully functional and I can access the bool to reset all playerprefs in the editor (from a script), and that works, I've checked in the registry and the playerprefs are correct, and the text object that displays the playerpref is being changed on the update function, this all works in the editor. When I build the game however, my text objects go to 1,000 (they display the highscore), I got this score on all my levels once and nothing has seemed to work since. This is not the text not being updated as their default is 0.When I tried re-making the playerprefs with playerpref_1, nothing seems to work, I have no idea what to do, as it has worked before in builds and is fully functional in the editor. I seem to be the only person with this problem, is my Unity bugged? Is this a problem with my playerprefs or is it something else entirely like my player or project settings, I haven't changed any major settings or done any updates that caused the issue. What is wrong with my build that stops playerprefs from working? Thanks.
