Nothing is visible in the scene tab when the shading mode is set to shaded

When I set the Draw Mode to Shaded, nothing is visible in within the scene tab. However, when I set the Draw Mode to anything else, the scene becomes visible all of a sudden. What can I do to resolve this issue?
