Unity editor either slows to a crawl or monitors go black after testing a game in VR
I'm using Unity 2018.3.0f with the steamvr plugin
The game runs perfectly fine when I'm not using a vr headset. If I use the headset to test for a few seconds then I can stop play and go back to the editor without any problems. However, if I play for a few minutes before stopping the game, then I start getting weird issues. The unity editor will start lagging, to the point it takes a few seconds just to click on something. I can wait several minutes and the editor will never stop lagging. I have to close the editor and reopen it to get it to stop. Or my monitors will go black, and show no input, like my graphics card turned itself off or something.
Does anybody know what this is? I tried searching the question database here and googling but I couldn't find anyone experiencing similar issues. I have a feeling memory used when testing in VR is not being reallocated to the system or something. I don't get any errors.
I'm using a HTC Vive.
relavent system specs:
processor: i5 6600k
graphics card: rtx 2080
Ram: 32gb DDR4
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
