Is Visual Studio meant to install automatically with Unity 2021?
Hi, My students have installed Unity 2021. It seems that with 2/3 students Visual Studio has automatically installed with it and 1/3 haven't got it. It doesn't seem to matter what the operating system is. Why is it that different options install with same Unity 2021 download? I cannot find an answer anywhere. I'm trying to make a guide on the installation but seems difficult as there's no consistency on the installations. Is Visual Studio meant to automatically install with Unity 2021 or not?

It will be installed only if you select it when adding a new version from the Unity Hub
Also, Visual Studio has a free trial period, and after that you have to pay to further use it. If you want something free and just as good, try Visual Studio Code. More info here: https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/other/unity
Visual Studio Community (the version you can download from Unity Hub) is free and does not have any trial period.
