How to Properly use Root Motion for a rigged character?
Hi, commUnity. I have stumbled on a problem with root motion on my rigged humanoid characters. I created a walking animation inside of blender and exported it with the rigged human model as an fbx in unity. But when I set up the animator and applied "Use Root Motion" so my animation could move the character, he only seems to move when facing down the +X or -X axis.
I also have a mouselook script that rotates the character horizontally but the root motion does not follow his direction. So when he facs down the Z axis, he is walking in place where as a slight turn to the x axis will have him moving slightly down the axis but it looks like he is moving sideways.
Does anyone know how I can use root motion to make him walk in the forward direction no matter what axis?
