Help on colour!

I'm a total beginner in unity and i stumble across this issue when i am trying out the roll a ball game where i can't seem to be able to see the shadow and also after i have added the material on the sphere, the colour is still shown as the image.. Any expert please help? alt text

Your scene doesn't appear to have a light.

Oh i see.. that might be the issue cause i was just following the tutorial from this link http://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/projects/roll-ball-tutorial . Will try to add a light in my scene and see how it goes. Thank you! :)

There doesn't seem to be a light source in the scene. Add a directional light and see if that helps

Yeah i tried to add the light now i can see stuffs... :) Thanks for telling me about the camera too but what exactly camera does btw?
