Could not load file or assembly 'nunit.core.interfaces (Unity 5.3 and 5.4 only)
After updating to Unity 5.3 from 5.2 I get the following warning (same occurrence in 5.4 beta):
Warning BCW0000: WARNING: Could not load types from 'UnityEditor.EditorTestsRunner, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null': System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'nunit.core.interfaces, Version=2.6.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7aba5c763ef4d5f9' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. (BCW0000: WARNING: Could not load types from 'UnityEditor.EditorTestsRunner, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null': System.IO.FileNotFoundException) (Assembly-UnityScript-Editor)
Following this warning are these errors:
Error File name: 'nunit.core.interfaces, Version=2.6.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7aba5c763ef4d5f9' (File name) (Assembly-UnityScript-Editor)
Error WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF. (WRN) (Assembly-UnityScript-Editor)
I've searched extensively with no results. I've deleted the library folder and cleared the obj and .sv folders.
I have a similar question related to script errors going from 5.2 to 5.3. This is a more specific question. I submitted a bug report months ago to Unity as well as a question. No reply yet.
As it stands I cannot use anything beyond 5.2.
We use Unity as a graphical interface for a much more complex system. The interaction with Unity is really just communication and playing animations as needed. In 5.3 the communication does not occur. I'm unable to properly debug because of the above errors. These errors did not occur in any instance before 5.3 (Unity 3 through Unity 5.2).
