Skybox problem
I recently purchased AllSky for Unity. I was very excited to start using the promised HD skyboxes pictured here:
I imported the assets, and was ready to start using them. I read the readme and learned how to make the skybox.
"Changing the sky is as simple as making a new material of the 'skybox cubed' type, assigning it a sky texture and setting it as your skybox via the scenes' render settings" So I made a new Material. Made it a Skybox Cubed. And applying the cubemap. Then I went into render settings, selected my material...and i got this
If this is HD then I don't want to see what the hell low quality is. This is really pissing me off, seeing as I payed $15 dollars for this add-on. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you in advance! :D - Nikolai
You might check import settings for the skybox textures. By default, Unity tends to try to compress things and save space (especially on mobile). Sometimes, that's not entirely helpful.
Wow I almost feel like you are trolling just because how hilarious your screenshot is compared to how it's supposed to look :)
You should type in the name of the textures for your current Skybox in the project search bar. All the skyboxes names probably have at least one unique word for example "SummerSky".
Search for that and it will bring up all the textures you need. Select the textures and change them to format = Truecolor with the appropriate $$anonymous$$ax Size setting, for example $$anonymous$$ax Size = 512.
It's kind of annoying having to use bigger file sizes for textures but with Skyboxes the visible differences can be pretty extreme based on your settings.
that is a funny question, as if the guy selling the skybox was underhandedly selling icon quality resolution

The authors addressed this problem in their readme:
Import Settings: Textures are initially imported at low resolution to hasten download and import speed, and also reduce initial disk usage. To increase the size of the imported texture raise the resolution settings on the inspector when you have the sky textures selected.
You have to select the textures, increase their size, and disable compression.

As I see from your screenshots, a problem in visibility of boundary. Seams shan't be. That it wasn't, it is necessary to change one of parameters of import of a texture. Select one of your pictures for skybox. At you to appear the inspector of import (usually on the right). In it there is a "Wrap mode" parameter. By default its "Repeat" value. Change it to "Clamp" value. After click "Apply". Do the same actions for other textures of skybox. I hope it to you will help.
